We have a special guest here in Dezzy's Closet this week! Our very own Emma Icecrafter is here sporting her Set of the Fireblizzard that she is currently wearing as she quests in Dragonspyre with Ghost. Emma says that she is very happy with her gear, as Dragonspyre marks the beginning of Ice wizards' exceptional Health boosts: nearly an additional 250 health than any other wizards will see with their crafted gear! Emma is preparing for tankdom and we certainly are looking forward to having a tank within our group!
Ice wizards that are level 44 or higher can buy their recipes from Fenrik Doomseeker in the Crystal Grove. You can find him loitering not far from the Teleport Hub. All three recipes will cost a total of 4406 gold.
Warning from Dezzy:
To make all 3 items in any of these sets, you are going to need to collect 24 Blizzard treasure cards. As expected, you will need a total 63 ore to craft all of the items in this outfit . The remainder of the ingredients are simple to come by for the amounts required. Just click on the set title to view the full list of ingredients needed to make the entire set: the hat, robe, and boots.
Ice wizards don't get much of an accuracy boost in Dragonspyre, and it seems that all of the elemental schools have a frustratingly high fizzle rate. Damage boosts to both primary and secondary schools are relatively decent with this outfit for Ice/Balance combination.
If you see a wizard wearing this outfit, know they are either saints of patience or highly frustrated. Ice/Storm can be a deadly combination, I'm sure, when/if they manage to not fizzle their hits. Invest some time in crafting and tracking down athames, amulets, rings, and gems that will help with accuracy and you will be one tough wizard to beat.
We can easily see why Emma is happy with this set of crafted clothing for Ice/Fire wizards. Excellent health paired with some decent damage boosts, even the additional accuracy isn't as bad as it could be. I remember giving Emma a ride to the Crystal Grove when she first started Dragonspyre, so that she could get her recipes and craft them as soon as she got to level 44. Not a bad idea. If you do all side quests, odds are good that you could be past level 50 by the time you gain entry to this area on your own.
Decent boosts, not a bad sense of fashion, I give this set of Ice Clothing two thumbs up!
Ice/Death wizards are given a sharp looking outfit in Dragonspyre. Granted, it IS a bit militant, but capes are awesome! Considering the incredible 20% damage boost and I bet Malistaire starts shaking in his boots when he sees you coming.
Tank plus healer, this is a very smart combination, I wonder how many wizards have the Ice/Life combination of schools. We should see about finding a castle resident with this combination, I bet it is very interesting and helpful. It really is a shame that crafted gear doesn't cater to the healer aspect as much as it could. So many possibilities.
Please keep in mind that the numbers above reflect the properties given when the entire set is worn together. I have provided a link to the Dezzy's Closet page of our website that gives the clothing recipe and info for the sets, and the names of the individual items that make up the sets - just click on the set title. These pages are not yet available through our site but I have given exclusive early access to our blog readers!
