The Wyrd House - Part 1 - Crafting with Savvy

Hello again, continuing on with the crafted houses this month we're going to craft the Wyrd House! This house is the absolute easiest to craft, I completed it in only 3 days! There is only a total of 6 items to craft to make this house and if you're lucky you can even find two of them in the Bazaar. You will need 2 each: Brick-Walled Pond, Cephalopod Obelisk and Jar of Mushrooms.

Deck the Spiral with Yuletide Plants

I received a Missile Toe seed in my Yuletide pack this year. I think that this holiday, I'm going to try my hand at farming for seeds. Rumor has it that Boon Tree seeds are dropped by Nightshade, Jade Oni and two different groups in Mirror Lake. I bought a Boon Tree seed last year and was sadly disappointed when it did not return a seed at elder harvest. That is just wrong on so many levels.

Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone, how was your Thanksgiving?
Did you enjoy the lovely turkey KingsIsle gave to everyone? It would be so awesome if there were more recipes to craft holiday themed items. There are only three that I know of, Carol of the Bells, Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells Themes, but you can farm for tons of wonderful holiday items!

I'm Dreaming of a Spiral Christmas

It's time for Yuletide celebration in the Spiral! OK, so this has nothing to do with crafting, but holiday stuff is just awesome - even if Manny doesn't much appreciate the rosy cheeks that guys get with the Toy Soldier set. Ravenwood students in the Wizard101 spiral received a free Yuletide pack, on Friday, for the first day in the annual 12 Days of the Spiral event. You can get yours until December 17th by entering the code SPIRALGIFT.

The B.O.X.E.S. are back!!

As you may remember, the last time the B.O.X.E.S. appeared in the spiral Rose Piper surprised us with a bunch of new housing recipes that all require sonic springs. Now that the B.O.X.E.S. are back this is our chance to stock up on enough sonic springs to craft all of those awesome housing items and mounts!

Celestial Observatory - Part 4 - Crafting with Savvy

Welcome back, have you finished up crafting your last pieces? I hope so because today I'm focusing on the last few things needed to finish crafting your house! You will need 5 Unstoppable, 5 Perfect Onyx, 3 Pristine Vial and 2 Celestian Shields. That's it? You got it. Most of these ingredients can be found with your local reagent vender and treasure card dealer. The Celestian Shield is a dropped item but can be found in the Bazaar from time to time. There is only one boss that drops the shield full time, Curuin Charmtooth, in the District of the Stars (Charmtooth's Lare), he is life and has 4,730 health, he does not cheat. Otherwise, during the Lost Pages event Carson
Spritethief, in The Floating Land (Mysterious Cave) has 9,877 health and is also life; he has one cheat, a boost of around 54% life damage. Who knows, you may already have two shields from battling Carson during the Lost Pages or by completing the quest, The Whole Tooth which is a side quest.

Halloween Costumes at Dezzy's Closet

Happy Halloween! Halloween makes me think of fall, which makes me think of harvests, which leads me to farming! October is an incredible month for farming in the Spiral! Especially since there are new Halloween costumes in the Spiral this year! Has Nightshade been good to you? Yeah, me neither ... but I have good news! In a pinch, there are TONS of outfits in the Spiral - at least one in each world - that with a little imagination can work as Halloween costumes and are available either for gold or that can be crafted.

Fire School Crafted Marleybone Clothes - Part 1

Celestial Observatory - Part 2 - Crafting with Savvy

This week we are going to discuss the Celestian Tree Sprig and the Celestian Sconce and what it takes to craft them. Ever since I was only a wee little wizard I have loved the look of the Celestian themed items, aren't they just so pretty?

Celestial Observatory - Part 1 - Crafting with Savvy

Ready to start crafting another great house? This time we're working on the Celestial Observatory! This is the only futuristic Celestia themed house and there is so much furniture that matches! At first I was very leery about putting the time and reagents into crafting this house because in the preview it seems very small. However, I wanted to cover it and I feel that it's very important to actually craft the objects I feature so that I can give an honest opinion about them. Much to my joy, less than a week later, I realized that it's much bigger than it appears while decorating it. The outside is huge, made up from four floating slabs connected by bridges and includes two out buildings and your very own dueling circle! I believe this is the only crafted house that comes with one.

Treetop Getaway - Part 5 - Crafting with Savvy

Congratulations! Now you've crafted your very own Treetop Getaway! Your new luxury estate can now hold 250 items inside and 250 items outside. The newest update was supposed to increase that amount to 350 but I haven't seen a change. I hope you've had fun crafting such a large project. It's a lot of hard work but is sure to be worth it!

Multi-Plant Garden - Terri's Garden

There are a lot of different ways to set up your garden. Some wizards like to grow only one plant at a time, some like to have plants all over their house and yards. While having plants all over is very pretty it takes a lot of energy to keep those plants healthy and some wizards don’t want to only grow one plant at a time either so what’s the solution? A multi-plant garden that fits inside a large spell radius; a total of 18 small plots, 8 medium plots and 5 large plots.

Treetop Getaway - Part 4 - Crafting with Savvy

Hi there everyone! Today we're finishing up your new house, the Treetop Getaway! Last time we finished up the craftable items, this week I'm going to suggest where to get the last few ingredients. You will need 1 Braided Vine, 3 Sparse Frond, 40 additional Mist Wood, and 2 Amber to complete your new estate.

Know Thy Garden - Terri's Garden

10 minutes until my next energy point?? Seriously? With the addition of ultra pets and ultra seeds, my energy needs aren't even close to meeting what I can generate in a single day. Don't even get me started about the fact that there is now fishing in Celestia, I haven't even had the spare energy to cast a single lure in Dragonspyre yet.

Treetop Getaway - Part 3 - Crafting with Savvy

Hello! Once again we're working towards crafting you a house! How are you coming on the last pieces I talked about? Yeah, I know, crafting a house is a big job, that's why I've been breaking it down piece by piece. This week I'm going to cover the last two craftable pieces, the Azteca Archway and Azteca Kiln. Yep, there are only four different crafted items needed to make the Treetop Getaway. You will need 8 archways and 4 kilns, they will take a total of 64 stone block, 40 sandstone, 40 sunstone, 80 agave leaves, 80 bone, 80 blood moss, and 2 grendelweed for the archways; 4 Efreet(tc), 4 Fire Trap(tc), 4 Furnace(tc), 20 sandstone, 50 stone block, 100 ghost fire, and 125 black coal for the kilns.

Death School Crafted Marleybone Clothes - Part 1

After realizing she is not cut out for Ice School, Dalia Falmea briefly considers switching to Death School because she looks good in black. You gotta admit, Death students DO have the best colors. Unlike most schools, their default crafted clothes actually use a contrasting color for the trim, which looks really sharp.

Update! Sharing is Caring! - Crafting with Savvy

Can you believe it?! You can now share houses!! I'm SO excited! Now I can craft houses for my roommates and just place them in the shared bank! Also, if you aren't up to crafting a house but one of your smaller roommates is in need of a house but doesn't have enough gold to purchase it for themselves you could buy it and just give it to them. No more trading stuff to them just to sell!

Marleybone Crafted Clothes for Balance Wizards - Part 2

Rupert returns for another visit to our castle. He enthusiastically thanked us for this opportunity saying that he welcomes the break from the drudgery of just hanging around in the Digmoore station. I bet it can get a bit boring having to hear the Mayor's same old stories every day while waiting for young crafters to stop by. Today Rupert brings us the final 3 crafted Marleybone outfits for balance wizards.

Treetop Getaway - Part 2 - Crafting with Savvy

Hello again! As promised I'm going to start covering the different pieces to craft the Treetop Getaway! This week I'm focusing on the Azteca Scaffolding and the Dino Pillar. You will need 6 scaffolding and 10 dino pillars. That will be 12 Rebirth(tc), 6 Earthquake(tc), 180 mist wood, 48 agave leaves, and 120 leather straps for the scaffolding and 40 Colossus(tc), 250 shadow oil, 200 perfect sapphire, 80 stone block, 100 sandstone, 50 sunstone, 20 golden pearl and 10 fossil. They don't take up much space each so storing them shouldn't be too big of a problem. Don't forget that you can always store things in your attic or dorm room. Having a large yard can also be a very big help when crafting a house.

Crafted Marleybone Balance Clothing - Part 1

Ahoy Mateys! Marleybone has some fun pirate themed clothes for you, as well as some outfits that are a bit more formal looking. This is one of my favorite worlds as far as clothing style goes, especially the guys' choices. Anyone recognize Rupert Salisbury in the picture for today's post? He is the recipe vendor for Balance wizards and can easily be found right in Digmoore Station.

Treetop Getaway - Part 1 - Crafting with Savvy

For the next few weeks I’m going to be covering a crafted house. Yes! I said house! There are several houses you can craft: the Watchtower Hall, Celestial Observatory, Wyrd House and Treetop Getaway. Each has their difficulties. Crafting a house has to be the biggest crafting challenge there is. One of the hardest parts is keeping track of what you have crafted and what you need to craft. I suggest making a spread sheet to keep track. It’s also helpful if you only work on one piece at a time and when you’re done place same pieces together. You’ll need to have a big space to keep the pieces unless you store them in your attic, which can be handy since it will count how many you have for you. Also, if you have a roommate who crafts the process can go quicker if they craft some of the pieces and then place them in the shared bank.

Fire Wizards Guide to Krokotopia Crafted Clothes

You know what they say, it is all about location, location, location. Fire wizards have got it easy when it comes to finding their recipe vendor. Ar'dath Bey is hanging out in the Altar of Kings, and is the first clothing vendor that wizards will encounter in Krok. It is next to impossible to NOT find this Mander who stands right by Professor Winthrop.

Teleport Tapestries - Part 1 - Crafting with Savvy

Last time I talked about teleporters that you can use to get from one part of your home to another, which is great but what if you want to go somewhere else? You could run to your world door but, that could be a long run sometimes huh? Thankfully there is another option, teleport tapestries! You can craft a tapestry to go just about anywhere now. This week I’m going to cover four of the school tapestries, Balance, Death, Fire and Ice.

Castle Blocks...Again - Crafting with Savvy

Alright, I don't know how much you guys have played with the castle blocks but I've realized that it takes a lot of blocks to make even a small extra building. Yes, the Midday Estate, Meadows at dusk and the Night Garden are bewitched to allow an extra 250 castle blocks inside and out but the castles pre-built already take that many or more! You can get elixirs to increase the amount of items you can set down but that only increases the amount total, not the bewitched castle blocks allowance. So if you don't want to spend a ton on elixirs the only solution I can think of is to use as many of the XL pieces as you can and try to avoid the small and XS where you can. My buddy Lloyd Fallingwater, you know, in the Shopping District, he pointed out some huge pieces that can really help you free up some space.

Craftable Music Players - Crafting with Savvy

A while ago I had commented to Dezzy that it's a shame that there is only one kind of music player and how awesome it would be if there was one themed after each world, later that week the B.O.X.E.S. appeared and wouldn't you know, she got Dragon's Roost Player dropped. Alas, I'm not very lucky when it comes to creatures dropping what I want, but thankfully Rose Piper heard my complaint and by the time the B.O.X.E.S. reappeared she had mastered the recipes to not only the Dragon's Roost Player but a bunch of others as well! You should have heard her tooting her own horn!

Gardening for Beginners - Terri's Garden

*whispers quietly to self* Ok, you can do this. *takes deep breath*

Hello everyone, my name is Terri Willowheart and Dezzy has asked me to take over the gardens and share some gardening tips. Forgive me if I'm a little nervous, I'm just a little wizard and not entirely sure how I've managed to get such an honor bestowed to me. I haven't had much experience out in the spiral just yet. Most days, I prefer to sit quietly in the gardens, talking to my plants and learning the most efficient ways to get the most out of my garden with as little effort and/or energy as possible. I'm not entirely sure where to begin, I suppose right at the beginning with some basic gardening info.

Customizable Signs - Crafting with Savvy

Ever since I first arrived at Ravenwood I have been fascinated with the chalkboards in the classrooms. I was excited to find that they are craftable but I became so busy saving the Spiral that I forgot all about crafting one until I stumbled upon the recipe in my book earlier. There are other craftable signs as well, some are themed, Grizzleheim, Marlybone and Wizard City while others could be added to any house, Framed, Gravestone and of course, Chalkboard

Castle Blocks - Part 2 - Crafting with Savvy

After my previous experiments with castle blocks I decided to build the Midday Estate, maybe an entire house made out of the various blocks would be cool. When I got to my new home I began exploring, I didn’t like the house out front much so I tore it down, picked up all the pieces and started from scratch. I found that what is supposed to be a very simple process could become quite frustrating if things don’t line up just right. Nevertheless, there is something amazing about building a house exactly how you want it to be. Oh, you want a tower 6 levels high? You got it!

Ice Wizards Guide to Krokotopia Crafted Clothes

Harsan Bar'khour is the vendor that Ice wizards need to seek out to buy their clothing recipes in Krokotopia. He is a nervous blue mander that can be found standing in the Entrance Hall right next to Shalek the Wise.
