October has arrived!

It's October! It's October! It's October! I absolutely LOVE October in the spiral. As the official entertainment director at the castle I am here to tell you about all of the activities available to you only in the month of October. So much to do and so little time to do it in!

Three dungeons have popped up in Ravenwood. Mainly it is Pumpkin Head in the Master Tower that drops halloween goodies, but you might as well start with the smaller towers and work your way up to master. These are only around once a year after all. There is also Mordecai and Nosferabbit making their annual appearance in the spiral.

You can go trick or treating! Ok Ok, the repetitive dialogue gets a bit wearisome and you don't even get candy, but you do get gold! Not a whole lot, granted, but it's something. After completing each street you will also receive a black cat treasure card! WHAT?! You say you have no need for them? Oh, I beg to differ. Have you been to Ixcax CursedWing yet? He is a stone key boss found in the Black Sun Pyramid in Three Points, Azteca. He drops awesome pets! Babydactyl, Therizinosaurus, Velociraptor, and others! You also have the possibility of gaining exclusive PERMANENT mounts including Feathered Raptor, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus Rex! I mean seriously! It would really be awesome if there were halloween goodies to be had here but Ixcac does drop an assortment of gear and housing and stuffs from Skyvern's Hoard Pack. So, what does this have to do with trick or treating or black cat treasure cards? I know, it may sound like my train of thought got derailed but I DO have a point. You see, there is a small catch. Before gaining access to the door with the stone lock on it, you first need to face Belloq. Remember Belloq? He is the elephant who wants you to hit him each and every round. Unlike when we faced him in Zafaria, you can't get away with Damage over Time (DoT) spells here, he doesn't like them at all! So load your deck up with Empowerment and all those bright and shiny black cat treasure cards and whatever 1 and 2 pip TC you might have lying around and give this boss a whirl. Don't forget to grab a stone key - you know you have a couple hanging on the wall for emergencies ;)

I'm in the process of revamping my game room. It is not quite as ready as I had hoped. The random challenge is moving to a new area that isn't open yet, unfortunately. Instead of one set creature, and one random monster to challenge you I am now giving a creature that is generally found on the street or as a minion in smallish towers. For larger challenges I'm also giving bosses for you to defeat too. I have hand selected all of these unfortunate souls in October. Not everyone specifically drops halloween goodies - most do, but there really aren't enough to keep things fresh and exciting for an entire month. I've also included as many mummies, ghosts, zombies, and goblins as I could hunt up.

I think that's all I wanted to cover. Don't forget to stop by and visit Lord Nightshade. He has THE best selection of halloween stuff to be had, and you know you need a new pair of Trollskin Boots. Those things wear out so quickly after all. Who knew Trolls had such delicate skin?
